The 30-page free eBrochure is our latest annual resource to help social care providers improve the standards of care in their care home and increase their commercials, following ‘Recruitment and Occupancy: How to win the key battles for care homes in 2022’, and ‘Planning for commercial success in your care home in 2021’.
Why did we create the 12 lessons eBrochure?
With rising costs and the continuing challenges of recruitment and occupancy this year, care homes will need to strengthen their approach so as to ensure the best quality of care for residents, protect staff and provide confidence to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the communities they’re based within.
Many of the problems that our consultants identified may seem simple at first. However, even the most basic systems and processes need to be regularly reviewed, to make sure the best quality of care is being delivered at all times. This makes it vital for care providers to constantly review and renew how their care service is run, otherwise standards will begin to slip.
As expert care consultants with a wide range of experience supporting every level of social care — from care home governance and compliance, to interim care management support — we understand the issues that social care providers currently face, as well as how to bring in effective solutions for positive change.
By following our free eBrochure, care home owners, providers and managers can assess whether their care homes are also faced with these common challenges and address them now to find the strength they need for improvement in 2023.
Comments from our CEO
Fulcrum CEO, Tony Thiru, said: “In too many cases, care homes have become complacent and slipped into bad habits, often as a result of having to find their own solutions through the pandemic. Others have adapted their processes and procedures so that they are good enough to get by within the changed landscape, but far from best practice. These poor practices are impacting further on staff recruitment and retention and occupancy levels, as well as adversely impacting commercials.”
He added: “Care home owners, providers, investors and managers who want to succeed in 2023 – providing commercially viable, high-quality care – need to introduce effective management, operational and QM systems, adapted to the new landscape.
“Those that tackle the core issues behind struggling recruitment and occupancy levels will remain the strongest in 2023. The eBrochure has been put together as a guide to provide much-needed insight and strategic solutions as we prepare for next year.”
