We’re proud of the amazing results we’ve been able to achieve with care homes across the UK, reaching higher CQC ratings and increasing their commercials. However, none of this would be possible without our outstanding team of social care consultants. We work with some of the best in the business, each being an expert in their specialism. We could talk all day about the rewarding, stimulating and exciting work we do within care services daily, but don’t just take our word for it — here’s what one of our consultants, Tracy D’arvigny, has to say.
Experts in improving care services
We’re always on the lookout for talented care professionals who are experienced in senior care management or have already worked in care consultancy. The pandemic sent shock waves through the care sector and we were inundated with care homes contacting us in need of assistance. We’re still in high demand and are looking for like-minded consultants to join our growing team.
Tracy D’arvigny, Fulcrum consultant, says: “I’ve been with Fulcrum approximately two and a half years now. I heard about Fulcrum, and I also knew of Tony, the Managing Director, through previous employment. I made contact and got the ball rolling and they supported me in the new role.”
Our team is made up of experts in their area and we pride ourselves in our onboarding process. We offer excellent support for our new consultants as they learn how we work and what makes us different.
Our consultancy sets itself apart by focusing on three key areas:
- Reactive – crisis management, immediate CQC response, management cover
- Proactive – supporting the longer-term management of care homes
- Value–add – helping care homes improve their commercials and systems.
Making life better for care home residents
No two days with Fulcrum look the same, as every care home has its own challenges, culture and strengths. This makes being adaptable and flexible to different structures and systems important, offering unique and tailored plans that best suit the care home we’re working with.
“I wanted to venture out a little bit more around the services I did in my previous role, as I’d been based in one company for nearly 25 years,” says Tracy.
“It was nice to venture out into the world — It’s exciting!” She adds, “We never know what to expect when we step into a care home, as every day is different, but we always go in with a positive attitude and we aim to leave with one as well.”
What you need to be a care home consultant
At Fulcrum Care, we don’t require exclusivity, if there’s no conflict of interest. It is essential that you’re able to travel and have a driving licence, as we often work with care homes across the country.
We encourage anyone with experience in:
- Social care consultancy
- Management roles in a health or care service environment
- One of our three areas of work (reactive, proactive and value-add) – with supporting evidence
- Regional experience (e.g. as a peripatetic nurse or carer).
Unsure if you have all of the experience we’re looking for? Don’t worry – our main requirement above all others is that you share our commitment to providing outstanding care.
Tracy says: “I think my top requirements would be commitment, honesty, being sociable and professional. But, above all else, be yourself!”
