Fulcrum Care was delighted to be able to sponsor the NCA’s competition. We donated two prizes and are pleased to be able to announce the winners.

Woodlands Care Centre
Firstly, congratulations to the Woodlands Care Centre in Macclesfield on winning a Mini Audit, worth £480.
With the Mini Audit, a Fulcrum compliance consultant visits the care home. Over about two hours, the consultant carries out a “walkaround” with a nominated person. We look through a random sample of care plans, medication records, training and supervision records, and staff files. And after that, we give some verbal feedback on what can be improved and how. Bringing an impartial perspective, the exercise helps in many ways, including acting as evidence of compliance with Regulation 17 and is a positive on the Well Led aspect.

Mount Pleasant Residential Home
And congratulations also to Mount Pleasant Residential Home in Frodsham, Cheshire. They’ve won a year’s subscription to our Quality Management System, worth £300.
The QMS is a cloud-based tool designed to help managers and providers to audit their home regularly based on CQC’s Key Line Of Enquiry (KLOE) prompt questions. The system includes separate audits in-line with all 24 KLOEs. Audits can be scheduled and also delegated to other users. Users have the ability to create action plans to address non-compliance and the QMS produces intuitive reports on each audit as well as overall compliance.
Well done to both these National Care Association competition winners.
