Five years is a key milestone in any business. Only 50% of companies make it this far, so we’ve used this pivotal moment to refresh our brand to reflect how far we’ve come, and where we are going, in our continuing journey of helping care home owners, providers and managers improve the quality of care that they offer, their CQC ratings and commercials.
By the time this blog has been published, you may be aware that Fulcrum has an exciting new look — with a brand-new website to match! With five years now under our belt as professional social care consultants, it was the right time to update our branding to match how our business has grown and bring more focus to the full range of services we are now able to provide for our care home clients.
Why did we need to change our care consultancy brand?
Getting your messaging right is something that we often help care home providers and owners develop, to help build confidence in their care home or care home group. By having a clear and accessible promise, mission and style, you can instantly communicate your values, standards and the culture that your team shares. After five years of using our classic red and white brand, it was time to take our own advice and make that change for ourselves…
For those not aware, ‘fulcrum’ is the term for a balancing point – such as the pivotal point of a seesaw. This is what we offer our care home clients; expert stability and support that provides the foundations they need to keep delivering a good quality of care, as well as providing the pivotal expertise to protect or improve their commercials.
In our new brand logo, developed by graphic design agency, Nearo, we reflect this by keeping the same triangular point of our consultancy for care home providers, owners and managers, as well as incorporating our care home clients more prominently into the design:

As our team of professional care consultants has grown, bringing in a wealth of new expertise and perspectives from across the health and social care sectors, so has the scope of the services we can offer. From managing care home turnarounds to equipping care home management teams with mock auditing toolkits, providing assurances and support for new care home owners, and giving the most up-to-date recommendations on changing Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations, we help care homes as a trusted partner that always goes above and beyond to ensure quality at all levels of social care.
Using our modern red and blue colour scheme, we want to convey that we are both available to support care home managers at ground-level crisis management (red), all the way up to advising on professional, board-level decision-making for care home providers looking to protect their commercials or forge new partnerships with local authorities (blue).
What can you expect from Fulcrum care home consultancy in the future?
The launch of our new brand isn’t just a visual update — it’s also in line with some exciting, upcoming projects we can’t wait to share with you. Recently, award-winning health and care professional, Karen Johnson, joined our team as Head of Quality Assurance, to help lead and develop some of these new service offerings for our care home clients.
We will also continue to focus on supporting care home owners, managers and providers to optimise and improve their systems with technology, as the CQC moves towards a data-driven approach in 2023. This will be through providing resources and tools that all care homes — even individual or smaller care home groups — can access, as well as providing the mentoring and training for care workers to continue them sustainably.
