At Morven, we required specialist, hands-on consultancy support to make the additional 22 beds that we developed fully operational and CQC-compliant. After Fulcrum stepped in, all CQC compliance issues were resolved and the home became fully operational. We now have a smooth-running care home with 40 beds. More importantly though, Fulcrum’s improvements helped us to build a professional team as well as improve our CQC rating that resulted in an increase to our occupancy, thus releasing the financial pressure that was such a concern to us and to our backers.
The support and guidance provided by the Fulcrum team has been invaluable to my care home of 50+ bedrooms, during a time in which the home was failing due to its previous poor management practices. Trisha and Tony have speedily instilled confidence in the home’s key external stakeholders: CQC and the Local Authority. This has been evident during meetings with those organisations and Multi-Disciplinary Teams, including Safeguarding, DOLS and Contracts Monitoring amongst others. Trish, the Fulcrum Care consultant assigned, stepped into the Home Manager position during a transitional period of management at our nursing dementia home. We engaged Fulcrum to support with improving regulatory compliance at the home. The Fulcrum team has worked on this project with resolution, expertise and determination, sometimes overcoming opposition from staff. The Fulcrum team has been patiently explaining their actions to staff as well as the provider. They have been winning the staff over to work with them to make this project a success. The Trustees are now very pleased with what they can see as real forward movement towards better regulatory compliance and improved quality of care.
