Managed Asset Support for Residential Care Services - Lavender Lodge
Fulcrum Care partnered with Lavender Lodge to provide managed asset support during a period of significant operational and financial challenge. Through a structured turnaround approach, hands-on consultancy and consistent leadership support, the service moved from instability to a far stronger, safer and more sustainable position.
Case Study Overview
When Fulcrum Care began working with Lavender Lodge, the home was facing serious financial pressures and wider operational challenges. The service was not operating in a safe, sustainable or profitable way, and there was a clear need for structured support to stabilise performance and rebuild confidence.
Fulcrum was engaged to provide managed asset support that would help the service address immediate pressures while also creating a stronger long-term foundation. This included practical support across turnaround planning, refurbishment, sustainability, recruitment, training and day-to-day operational oversight.
Alongside technical and operational input, the work focused on supporting the people within the service, giving leaders and staff access to guidance, one-to-one support and practical solutions during what had been a particularly difficult period.
The Approach
Fulcrum Care provided a structured and collaborative programme of managed asset support tailored to the needs of Lavender Lodge.
This included:
Turnaround and Sustainability Planning
We worked closely with the service to develop practical and achievable plans covering turnaround, sustainability and operational recovery. The focus was not only on immediate improvement, but on creating a model that could support long-term stability and growth.
Refurbishment and Service Improvement
Fulcrum supported the direction and development of a realistic refurbishment plan aligned to the wider needs of the service. This formed part of a broader improvement programme designed to strengthen the environment, operational resilience and future viability of the home.
Workforce Support, Recruitment and Training
Recognising the pressures facing the service, Fulcrum provided guidance around recruitment, training and team development. This included helping identify the right support, strengthening capability and ensuring the service had access to practical advice when challenges arose.
Hands-On Leadership Support
Throughout the programme, Fulcrum worked alongside the service with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach. This involved regular conversations, operational guidance and responsive support to help the team navigate complexity with greater clarity and confidence.
The Result
The impact of the managed asset support has been significant.
Lavender Lodge has moved from a position of uncertainty and instability to one of far greater strength, sustainability and direction. The home is now operating from a more stable base, with improved confidence in its future and a clearer path for continued growth.
A key milestone in that progress was a recent Local Authority and ICB visit, which reflected the improvements that had been made across the service. The visit went extremely well, stakeholders left with confidence in the direction of travel, and the report returned with no concerns. Given the challenges faced previously and the fact that the service is currently without a Registered Manager, this was a particularly strong indication of the progress achieved.
More broadly, the work has helped create greater operational clarity, measurable assurance and renewed confidence across the service. The transformation of the home has been built through consistent hard work, practical leadership, emotional investment and a shared commitment to achieving better outcomes.
Client Feedback
“Working with Fulcrum on the managed asset has been a genuinely wonderful experience.
When we first engaged, the home was facing significant financial challenges and was not operating profitably or safely. Through a structured approach and consistent support, we have seen it stabilise and move into a far more sustainable and profitable position.
What has been truly invaluable is the people, ethos and candour that Fulcrum bring. They are warm, approachable and demonstrate a genuine concern for the individuals in the care of the providers they support. Their mission to uplift care nationally is clear, not just in words, but in strategy, hands-on support, education and guidance.
Fulcrum have brought calm, clarity, consistency and measurable assurance throughout a very challenging period. I would not hesitate to recommend Fulcrum and Fabio for managed asset support.”

Dear Fabio and everyone at Fulcrum
I would like to take the time to sincerely thank everyone at Fulcrum from the bottom of my heart. Working with Fulcrum on the managed asset has been a genuinely wonderful experience.
I have learnt so much in such a short space of time and met so many wonderful and enthusiastic people. I have truly been supported in every aspect I could ask for. I have had time given to me in the form one on one conversations when I have needed guidance, support finding the best training, or consolation during difficult periods.
When we first engaged, the home was facing significant financial challenges and was not operating profitably or safely. Through a structured approach and consistent support, we’ve seen it stabilise and move into a far more sustainable and profitable position.
A huge part of that journey has been down to Fabio who always listens to individual needs and requirements and finds solutions with collaboration and respect. There has yet to be an issue he has found to be unworkable. From assisting in directing and developing a practical and achievable refurbishment plan, sustainability plan, turnaround plan, recruitment and training to ensuring its effective delivery, his input has been invaluable.
The LA/ICB visit this week was another standout moment. Kathy was by our side as she has been throughout, it went fantastically well and really showcased the progress that’s been made. The ICB and LA walked away full of smiles, their report returned with no concerns. After the significant incidents last year and the ongoing struggles, and with no RM currently in post, this speaks volumes and cannot be underestimated.
What I would like to emphasise as being truly invaluable is their people, their ethos and candour. They are warm, approachable, and demonstrate an obvious and genuine love and concern for the individuals in the care of the providers they support. Their mission to uplift care nationally is clear, not just through a well-worded mission statement or vague policies, but through strategy, hands-on support, education, and guidance.
The care sector is well known to be complex and challenging to navigate. Fulcrum brings calm, clarity, consistency, and measurable assurance, not just verbal reassurance. They are rooted in ensuring they achieve better outcomes. Fabio is a large driving force behind this.
What’s most impressive is how the home has gone from uncertainty of survival to strength and prosperity in every sense of the word. There’s now a clear sense of stability, direction, and continued growth. That doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of hard work, mental and emotional investment, strong leadership, attention to detail, and genuine commitment.
I’m incredibly grateful for the support and partnership throughout this process and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Fulcrum and Fabio for managed asset support.
