During the pandemic, more care home managers than ever were reaching out to us, trying to make sense of the ever-changing circumstances that we all found ourselves in. If the past two (and a bit) years have shown us anything, it’s that our sector needs to be ready with whatever is thrown our way, to be able to keep providing the elderly with the care they deserve, regardless of the difficulties that might be facing wider society. Versatility is one of the things that we’re great at, and it was so good to hear one of our business associates, Siobhan Stirling, the Managing Director of Sharp Minds Communications, describe this so eloquently in a recent interview.
How long have you been working with Fulcrum?
“We actually started working with Tony and the team in the pandemic and it has been a challenging time for them, and us, for very obvious reasons. But what the pandemic has shown is, my goodness, the absolute commitment and resilience that the team have got, led by Tony, to make sure that care homes survive every challenge that’s thrown at them.
“Their passion for making sure that the residents get the best possible quality of care and support also comes across. The team at Fulcrum are also dedicated to ensuring that care home owners, providers and managers are supported, I think this was best illustrated at the start of the pandemic, when the changing legislation was coming out week-on-week and their clients were struggling to understand their commercials and what the CQC needed them to demonstrate. We witnessed the Fulcrum team work tirelessly to ensure every care home that contacted them – both old clients and new – were supported and informed. In turn, this has helped them build stronger care homes and stronger communities, meaning that our elderly are supported.”
What do you think has been central to Fulcrum’s growth?
“Definitely their energy and resilience – it’s been extraordinary to watch. It’s no surprise to us at the Sharp Minds team just how Fulcrum has grown during these challenges, as they took a very proactive role in making sure that all care homes were supported. Their dedication and commitment to the sector during its hour of need was apparent, so it’s not a surprise that they’ve been rewarded.”
What do you think the future holds for Fulcrum?
“It’s an exciting time for Fulcrum as Tony is growing the team and there are more consultants coming on board; Fulcrum is really well-positioned to move forwards to support the care sector, which will continue to be challenged as, obviously, we have an ageing population.
“The rebrand they’ve just done actually shows the growth that Fulcrum has undergone, it shows that Fulcrum is a little bit more grown-up, a little bit more professional, a little bit more of a professional partner to the investors, and the owners, and the providers – and we’re going to be there with Fulcrum all the way.”
