Valerie Herbert - Quality Improvement Manager

Val is a highly experienced Registered General Nurse with extensive experience across nursing, residential care, domiciliary care, supported living and learning disability services. She has held senior operational, quality and governance roles across England and Wales, with expertise in strengthening governance, compliance, clinical standards and regulatory performance. Her background also includes leadership in learning and development, teaching, training, and quality assurance.

Val has a strong track record of leading complex turnaround and improvement programmes, including services in special measures in Wales. She has supported homes through significant regulatory challenges, helped services achieve full compliance and managed services rated Outstanding as well as Good. Her experience includes CQC and CIW readiness, clinical governance, safeguarding, medication management, audits, investigations, health and safety, fire safety and workforce development.

At Fulcrum Care, as Quality Improvement Manager, Val works closely with services to strengthen governance and compliance, embeds sustainable improvements and support teams to achieve clinical excellence and consistently high standards of care.
